This is the most important information you will ever learn about working on your tube amp! Please take this seriously and all will be well. Summary of the steps as outlined in the video below...
- REMOVE the POWER plug from the WALL!
- Check the fuse - ALWAYS use a fuse with the correct rating!
- Use a slender WOOD probe - chopsticks are great!
- Put one HAND in your pocket - then probe carefully.
- Locate and DISCHARGE the filter caps
- VERIFY ZERO VOLTS DC on the filter caps
- Now you're good to go...
WATCH THE VIDEO as many times as you need to be sure, then very BE VERY CAREFUL to follow the steps... Then you are ready to DIY on your cool tube amplifier! If you plug it back in, follow the steps again...
